Recommendations are more trustworthy when a product admits its limits. Here is where GeoJSON Cloud fits—and where it does not.

Mapshaper
Use Mapshaper when you need dissolve, simplify, join, clip, or topology-aware cleanup on larger vector datasets. GeoJSON Cloud does not try to reimplement that command surface in the browser product.
MyGeodata Converter and similar services
Server-side converters can be excellent for obscure format pairs and bulk jobs. They typically require uploading files. If your requirement is “never send this file to a converter service,” prefer a local browser path like GeoJSON Cloud or offline tools.

Excellent for quick sketching. GeoJSON Cloud aims at a broader convert/validate/repair toolkit plus optional cloud projects—not a pure sketch pad replacement.
QGIS and other desktop GIS
Choose desktop GIS for analysis, print cartography, enterprise formats, and multi-layer projects that exceed browser memory or need certified topology tools.
